ATLANTA (AP) — The prosecutor investigating interference within the 2020 election in Georgia has agreed to immunity offers with not less than eight Republican faux electors who signed a certificates falsely stating that then-President Donald Trump had gained the state.

Protection lawyer Kimberly Debrow revealed the existence of the immunity offers in a courtroom submitting Friday, saying her eight purchasers had accepted the agreements final month. The submitting doesn’t establish the eight individuals who had been provided immunity offers.

Final July, a lawyer for Fulton County District Lawyer Fani Willis’ workplace revealed that every of the 16 individuals who signed the false elector certificates was a goal of her investigation, which is inspecting whether or not Trump and his allies dedicated any crimes whereas making an attempt to overturn his slim election loss.

The 16 faux electors met on the state Capitol on Dec. 14, 2020, and signed a certificates declaring falsely that Trump had gained the presidential election and declaring themselves the state’s “duly elected and certified” electors.
