The Division of Protection is launching a program that seeks to facilitate sustained partnerships between manufacturing services, rising know-how sources and interagency companions and construct up a expertise pipeline to help the expansion of the home semiconductor workforce and native economies.

The Microelectronics Commons initiative will obtain funding by means of the CHIPS and Science Act and set up a community of regional know-how hubs to allow trade leaders to information DOD’s microelectronics growth efforts, the Pentagon stated Friday.
