ST. GEORGE, Utah — A powerful third-place end by senior Ryan Iannaccone (pictured above) within the males’s 50-yard freestyle highlighted motion for the Cal Poly swimming and diving program throughout the opening day of the Utah Tech Trailblazer Invitational on Thursday.

Iannaccone swam a personal-best time of 20.57 seconds within the 50 free to take house third. Senior Brian Wong secured tenth within the occasion.

Iannaccone and Wong additionally helped the Mustangs safe third within the males’s 200 free relay with a time of 1:22.21. Freshmen Andrew Sullivan and Nicky Glenn swam the opposite two legs on the relay.

Junior Sean Keegan earned eighth within the males’s 200 IM. He had the fifth-fastest time in prelims.

On the ladies’s facet, senior Kaia Anderson had a robust exhibiting within the 500 free. She was ninth in prelims and captured fifteenth within the finals.

After the primary day of the three-day invitational, the Cal Poly males sit in third out of 5 groups, whereas the ladies are in tenth.

Motion on the DSU HPC Pool on Friday begins at 9 a.m. PST.
