Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic has escaped suspension after his off-court tussle with Phoenix Suns proprietor Mat Ishbia, the NBA introduced in an announcement on Monday.
Jokic has been fined $25,000 for making “improper contact with a spectactor” through the Nuggets’ game-four defeat to the Suns in Phoenix on Sunday of their Western Convention playoff collection.
Jokic clashed with Ishbia as he tried to seize a unfastened ball from the Suns proprietor within the second quarter of Sunday’s sport.
Because the ball flew again into the group, Jokic’s elbow appeared to knock Ishbia backwards.
Jokic, who scored a career-high 53 factors within the loss, later defended his actions and stated he was solely responding as a result of Ishbia made contact with him first.
Ishbia had sought to damp down the controversy earlier Monday by saying he didn’t wish to see the two-time NBA Most Invaluable Participant hit with a suspension.

The Suns and top-seeded Nuggets are stage at 2-2 within the best-of-seven collection, with sport 5 set for Denver on Tuesday.
