ROCKFORD, In poor health. (WIFR) – The Rockford Symphony Orchestra (RSO) publicizes its new music director after a year-long search.
Yaniv Attar will make his debut with the symphony at its annual Homicide Thriller dinner and fundraiser Friday, Jan. 20. Audiences can stay up for Attar opening the season as the brand new RSO music director later this yr.
“Not solely is Yaniv an extremely proficient conductor, he’s additionally enthusiastic about music, music training, and group engagement,” says RSO Govt Director Julie Thomas. “I’m excited for what’s forward for the RSO underneath his management.”
Together with directing the RSO, Attar is the music director of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra, the Bellingham Symphony Orchestra, and a creative associate with Northwest Sinfonietta.
A classical guitarist and native of Israel, Attar lives full-time in Bellingham, Washington together with his spouse and two kids. He has studied with Israel Edelson in Jerusalem, on the Julliard Faculty in New York, and on the Royal School of Music in London.
