BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech males’s tennis group wrapped up the primary day of competitors on the Bonita Bay Basic on Friday night.

Alvaro Ariza earned a powerful win in opposition to Memphis’ David Stevenson, who was ranked No. 125 within the ITA’s preseason rankings, in straight units. In doubles, Alvaro paired up with Frank Thompson claiming a hard-fought 77-63 win over challengers from FGCU. Matt Harper completed the day with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over FGCU’s Carter Bradford.

The Hokies might be again in motion tomorrow at 3 p.m. taking up FGCU.
