The Foothills Music Membership met Thursday, November 10, at Tryon First Baptist Church. This system theme was music from The Nice American Songbook. Members have been in a position to reminisce as they listened to previous requirements resembling: “Over the Rainbow,” performed on melodica with piano accompaniment; “Somebody to Watch Over Me” by George and Ira Gershwin and “One Hand, One Coronary heart” from West Facet Story, each carried out vocally;  a ragtime piano model of “Oh! You Stunning Doll”;  and a medley of state songs together with “Stars Fell on Alabama,” “Georgia on My Thoughts,” and “Carolina within the Morning,” sung and performed on classical guitar. This system ended with the nostalgic “I’ll  Be Seeing You,” carried out by the FMC girls’s vocal ensemble.

The aim of the Foothills Music Membership is to encourage musicians of their artwork and to supply scholarships for younger musicians within the space. Plans are already being made for the 2023 scholarship auditions which will likely be held in early March. Highschool college students who attend a college or reside in Polk or Rutherford County or Landrum, SC are eligible to use. Extra details about the scholarship program may be obtained from Jeanette Shackelford,
