ST. GEORGE, Utah – Utah State ladies’s basketball misplaced in its street opener, 95-57, to Utah Tech (2-1, 0-0 WAC) on Tuesday evening at Burns Area. 

The primary quarter started as a back-and-forth affair with the groups exchanging runs. USU settled into the competition with a 9-0 run to take a 12-9 lead. The Trailblazers responded with a 9-0 run of their very own to seize a lead they’d not relinquish. Utah Tech entered halftime with a 40-26 lead. The Aggies had been unable to engineer a second-half comeback because the Trailblazers shot 8-of-13 from behind the arc within the second half to ice the sport.

Graduate guard Mayson Kimball added 5 rebounds and two assists to associate with a team-high 14 factors on the evening. Graduate ahead Abby Wahl led the Aggies with 10 rebounds, narrowly lacking a double-double with eight factors. Graduate guard Maria Carvalho scored 13 factors with eight rebounds, her third-straight sport with eight rebounds. Junior Tamiah Robinson and sophomore Cristina Oliva every led USU with three assists within the contest.
