Disney’s New Frozen Ride in Tokyo Stuns With Impressive Tech in This Week’s Theme Park News

This week Disney unveiled to press the first look at Fantasy Springs, the eighth themed port at Tokyo DisneySea. The new land features three areas inspired by Walt Disney Animation fairytale films: Frozen Kingdom, Rapunzel’s Forest, and Peter Pan’s Never Land.

Each land has an E-ticket attraction that combines the magic of dark rides of yore with new tech advancements from Disney Imagineering—stunningly showcased in Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, as seen in Disney’s official video above. Seeing Anna transform from frozen like a statue to back to life is so magical—just look at her cape! On the six-and-a-half minute attraction, guests board a boat and enjoy an immersive storybook ride through the events of Frozen that’s accompanied by the film’s well-known songs. Additionally, Frozen Kingdom will feature two themed dining experiences: the Royal Banquet of Arendelle restaurant and Oaken’s OK Foods. Here’s hoping that Walt Disney World’s original version of the ride gets some refurbishments to match the incredible audio animatronics seen in the new iteration of the ride—or that we get it at Disneyland during its recently announced expansion.
