Emilia Clarke Talks Fears She Had After Suffering a Brain Injury During ‘Game of Thrones’ Days | Emilia Clarke | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

Emilia Clarke is opening up about the fears that were running through her mind while she was suffering from a brain injury during her Game of Thrones days.

The 37-year-old actress previously revealed in 2019 that she suffered from brain aneurysms and underwent life-saving brain surgery due to them. They happened in 2011 and 2013.

She said in 2022, “The amount of my brain that is no longer usable — it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussions. I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”

Now, Emilia is talking about her fears during that scary time.

“When you have a brain injury, because it alters your sense of self on such a dramatic level, all of the insecurities you have going into the workplace quadruple overnight,” she said in an interview with Big Issue. “The first fear we all had was: ‘Oh my God, am I going to get fired? Am I going to get fired because they think I’m not capable of completing the job?’”

Emilia also feared dying on set, adding, “Well, if I’m going to die, I better die on live TV.”

She also is reaching out to people suffering with similar problems.

“Having a chronic condition that diminishes your confidence in this one thing you feel is your reason to live is so debilitating and so lonely,” Emilia said. “One of the biggest things I felt with a brain injury was profoundly alone. That is what we’re trying to overcome.”
