In 2015, Gypsy and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, conspired to kill Dee Dee, who had subjected Gypsy to years of abuse, convincing others that Gypsy was severely ill and disabled when she was actually healthy. This abuse was part of a pattern consistent with Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy, where Dee Dee exaggerated or fabricated illnesses in Gypsy to gain attention and sympathy.

Gypsy pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to ten years in prison. She accepted this plea deal and was released on parole in December 2023.

To begin making the drink, crush up the two Jolly Ranchers of the same flavor. Then, take a “nice heaping scoop” of coffee and dump it in a cup with a little bit of water to make the instant coffee.

The instant coffee is then poured into a mixing bowl with a single packet of Kool-Aid mix and about 1/4 of a bottle of Fanta. Stir for about 30 seconds, and then add the crushed-up Jolly Ranchers. Pour over ice, and there you have it!

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reflects On The Moment She Decided To Have Her Mom Killed

TikTok | Gypsy Rose Blanchard

After suffering years of alleged abuse, Gypsy Rose Blanchard said she suffered from “panic” and desperation,” which is what led to the decision to have her mom killed. “Because I was facing yet another surgery pretty soon, and I really did not want to have the surgery.”

“It was work on my neck, something about my voice and my vocal cords and my voice box, to figure out why my voice is so high-pitched,” she explained. “And they thought the doctors attributed that to maybe a breathing issue. So they were going to do surgery on my larynx, and at that point, I was just not having it. I’m like, ‘I do not want to have the surgery.’ I expressed that to my mother.”

But Gypsy said there was “no debating” as her mother told her, “You’re having it,” and that’s it. “There’s no discussion to be had. And I felt in my heart, please change your mind. This life needs to change,” she continued.

“It’s not like I didn’t think about every other option besides murder. I did,” Gypsy added to PEOPLE.
