Despite being a convicted criminal, Gypsy has received an outpouring of love and support as she is believed to be a victim of Munchausen by proxy, a mental health condition and form of abuse where a caregiver intentionally causes or fakes an illness or injury in someone under their care.
Ever since being released, the 32-year-old has gained a massive following as she brings her fans behind the scenes of her everyday life.
In a recent post, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has gone make-up-free in her latest selfie, once again “slaying” with her social media presence.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard Serves 85% Of Her Prison Sentence

She was forced to undergo unnecessary medical treatments and use a wheelchair, and her true age and ability to walk were hidden from her. Gypsy eventually found out everything was a lie, and desperate to escape her mother’s control, she felt the only way out was to kill her.
In June 2015, Gypsy, with the help of her online boyfriend at the time, Nicholas Godejohn, conspired to murder Dee Dee. Godejohn stabbed Dee Dee to death at Gypsy’s request while Gypsy hid in a nearby room.

In 2016, Gypsy Rose Blanchard pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Nicholas Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

After her release, Gypsy Rose Blanchard has been “serving” and “slaying” on social media, gaining millions of fans overnight.
Not only has she been posting a tremendous amount of selfies, but she has also joined TikTok, bringing fans behind the scenes of her everyday life. She has even taught her followers how to make a prison energy drink and has gone live to answer fans’ questions.

On Friday, June 7, Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared a make-up-free selfie, leaving her followers gushing over her “natural beauty.”
“So pretty with and without makeup, natural beauty,” one of her followers wrote.
“The fact that you can slay full face and natural beauty. Get it!” another said.
Celebrity makeup artist Alexia Oakley commented, “Slay!”
The ex-convict was lying on her bed, wearing a beige knitted tank top, without any eyeliner, mascara, eye-shadow, or foundation.

Reflecting On Her Childhood

When looking back at her childhood and the abuse she endured, Gypsy Rose Blanchard said she was “desperate” to get out, and that’s why she decided to plot to kill her mom.
“It was panic, desperation,” Gypsy told PEOPLE Magazine in January. “Because I was facing yet another surgery pretty soon, and I really did not want to have the surgery.”
She explained that the upcoming surgery “was work on my neck, something about my voice and my vocal cords and my voice box, to figure out why my voice is so high-pitched.”
“And they thought the doctors attributed that to maybe a breathing issue. So they were going to do surgery on my larynx, and at that point, I was just not having it,” she added. “I’m like, ‘I do not want to have the surgery.’ I expressed that to my mother.”
“It’s not like I didn’t think about every other option besides murder. I did,” the 32-year-old added.

Moving Into Her Next Chapter

While she regrets plotting to murder her mom, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is trying to move on and start the next chapter in her life now that she is out of prison.
“I’m about to head into a new chapter in my life, a new look, a new me, new style, new everything,” Gypsy told The Hollywood Reporter when promoting her Lifetime docuseries “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.” “So I think that showing people and taking them on that journey with me was important for me because you get little bits and pieces of what my life has been like in the last five months from articles online, TikTok videos, social media, little bits here and there.”
She continued, “But no one gets to actually be in the room with me except for my family. So having the cameras follow me basically on a daily basis shows the events that people were hearing about all this time, but they don’t know what all was said. This definitely brings the viewers along in a very intimate way. And for me that was important to show, no, this is who I am.”
