Prince Harry ‘Will Never Be Allowed Back To Frogmore Cottage,’ Royal Expert Claims

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Prince Harry will never be allowed to return to Frogmore Cottage after leaving the residence in 2023.

While speaking to The Mirror, he said, “For King Charles, forcing Andrew to move to Frogmore solves several problems at once – it sends a message to Harry that, as a private citizen and no longer a working royal, he will never be allowed back to Frogmore.”

Quinn added, “It sends [a] message to Andrew that having disgraced himself, he can no longer expect to live in the grand style. And, finally, it means that a suitably grand residence can be made ready for the royals who really matter – William and Kate. Charles is determined that Royal Lodge is the only residence on the royal estate at Windsor that is big enough and regal enough for his heir.”

In a previous statement to the news outlet, Quinn said: “Harry and Meghan imagined Frogmore would always be there for them even if they came back to the U.K. for just a few weeks each year and even if they were no longer working royals.”

“That assumption speaks volumes about just how out of touch with each other King Charles and his son had become,” he added.

The royal author noted that despite stepping down as a working royal in 2020, Harry continued to use Frogmore Cottage during visits to the U.K. for family events.

“At the time, few people realized what a slap in the face the eviction from Frogmore felt like for Harry – it was the last straw,” the author noted. “Harry was absolutely furious and in tears about being evicted from Frogmore– he felt his father had no right to do it and that it was purely vindictive.”

Security Concerns Continue To Affect The Duke’s Travel Plans to the UK

In the past, Harry expressed security concerns, and losing his royal residence meant he wouldn’t have the protection he desired. In his witness statement in 2023, the Duke of Sussex acknowledged his concerns about traveling to London due to ongoing threats.

“It was with great sadness for both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020. The U.K. is my home,” he said. “The U.K. is central to my children’s heritage, and I want them to feel at home there just as much as they do in the U.S.,” he added.

A source also added that Harry’s trips to his home country are “always dependent on how secure he is.”

The insider shared: “Before deciding whether to attend the Invictus Games anniversary event, his security team must be sure that St Paul’s is adequately protected by the Metropolitan Police and his own security needs are met while he’s in London.”

“Harry wants to spend more time in the U.K. with his family,” the insider added, per Express. “But there’s no way he can do that while a question mark hangs over his security detail.”

The Sussexes’ Royal Titles Are At Risk Of Being Removed

In addition to evicting Harry and his family from Frogmore Cottage, King Charles and Prince William are reportedly in serious discussions about potentially stripping Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles.

Harry and Meghan were granted the status of “royal highnesses” following their marriage in 2018. During this time, they undertook official duties representing the monarchy until they left the royal fold in 2020.

Sources claim that losing their titles would significantly impact the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they were treated like royals during a recent trip to Nigeria.

The couple were reportedly “delighted” to see their chairs labeled with their titles despite the visit not being an official royal engagement.
