Ryan Anderson Reveals Who He Blames For Gypsy Rose Blanchard Split

As The Blast reported, Ryan and Gypsy met after he watched the 2017 documentary “Mommy Dead & Dearest,” which told the story of Gypsy’s childhood and the abuse she endured at the hands of her mother, Clauddine ‘Dee Dee’ Blanchard.

The two tied the knot in a prison ceremony in July 2022, and once Gypsy was released from prison in December 2023, she moved in with Ryan. However, three months later, she announced their separation.

Months after their separation, Ryan Anderson is speaking his truth, claiming that “outside influences” led to their split.

The special education teacher told E! News that he has “some ideas” about why Gypsy decided to leave. “Personally, I think outside influences got involved. And I don’t want to pinpoint it yet because I’m still processing, but I’d go to work, and then her mind would just run rampant,” he said. “And I’m still trying to figure out … how did it happen so fast?”

He continued, “That’s my thing, when I say I’m blindsided—really, I’m blindsided about how fast things occur. It’s like a snowball, and I haven’t been able to stop it. It’s just one of those where it’s gonna continue to roll.”

“He got in her face and screamed,” Gypsy’s close friend Nadiya Vizier, 22, told PEOPLE Magazine. “Gypsy said that she was afraid he was going to hit her. He didn’t — but that happened in the past with her mother. So, her first instinct was to tighten up and be prepared. But she got to safety and called her lawyer, too. Ryan is a big guy, and she told me it was really scary.”

She added, “It was like she was on a leash. What’s the difference between being locked in a prison cell and feeling locked in her own home and marriage? She didn’t want to put up with it anymore.”

Did Gypsy Rose Blanchard Leave Ryan For Her Ex?

While many think Gypsy Rose Blanchard divorced Ryan Anderson to get back with her ex-fiance Ken Urker, she says that couldn’t be further from the truth.

“It was, I think, an insecurity that was there for a very long time,” she told US Weekly in May. “I called Ken two weeks before I got married. Ken has consistently been brought up in a way that I can never let go of my feelings, but I put them on the back burner to do what was best for my marriage.”

“And so, having that be a point of contention has been a thread throughout, but I didn’t leave Ryan for Ken,” she claimed. “That was just sort of a realization [of], ‘Hey, we still love each other after the fact.’”

Fans will see it all play out in Lifetime’s docuseries “Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.” New episodes air on Mondays.
