Violet’s New Bridgerton Season 3 Romance Tease Flips A Huge Queen Charlotte Story

Summary

Violet’s romance with Lord Marcus in
Bridgerton
season 3 mirrors Lady Danbury’s romance with Violet’s father, Lord Ledger, in
Queen Charlotte.

Lady Danbury’s disapproval of her brother’s pursuit of Violet sets up comedic potential due to the dramatic irony of the situation and possible theatrics.
While Violet doesn’t remarry in the books,
Bridgerton
has expanded her role and may introduce a love story for her in the series.

Violet’s (Ruth Gemmell) teased Bridgerton season 3 romance flips a huge Queen Charlotte story in quite an amusing way. Violet’s story in the latest season seemed to once again be focused on her children’s evolving love stories and lives. Specifically, Violet focused on Francesa and her story in Bridgerton season 3 as it was her first season out in society. Despite this clear focus, Violet evolved this season beyond her normal role as the voice of reason to the Bridgerton family.

Bridgerton season 3’s story has Violet run into one Lord Marcus Anderson (Daniel Francis), who is Lady Danbury’s (Adjoa Andoh) estranged brother. Despite Lady Danbury’s clear distaste, sparks seem to fly between the two, though their romance seems to only just be beginning. This romance added some dramatically ironic humor to the first half of this season due to Lady Danbury’s strong discomfort clashing with her own romantic history in Queen Charlotte.

Violet & Lord Marcus Anderson’s Romance Flips Lady Danbury & Lord Ledger’s Queen Charlotte Story

Lady Danbury And Lord Ledger Begin Their Romance In Episode 5 Of Queen Charlotte

Violet’s romance with Marcus in Bridgerton season 3 is a fun reversal of Lady Danbury’s own romance with Violet’s father in Queen Charlotte. After her husband’s death, Lady Danbury began a romance with Lord Ledger that ended as quickly as it began. Despite its fleeting nature, Lady Danbury never told Violet, though it is clear in Queen Charlotte that she suspects their relationship was more than platonic. Through the new Bridgerton romance, the two families can further complicate their links to each other, as well as add some more comedic moments to season 3, part 2.

Lady Danbury clearly disapproves of her brother pursuing her friend. However, considering her relationship with Violet’s father, the flip adds some ironic humor to season 3. This humor could add a new element to these two characters as they begin to mirror their younger counterparts’ dramatic tendencies. The choice to continue or stop their relationship from blooming contains perfect comedic potential and could show these poised ladies in a new light. Not only that, but the series could force the two friends to finally face the past, letting their relationship grow and even updating one aspect of the Bridgerton books.

Does Violet Bridgerton End Up With Lady Danbury’s Brother In The Bridgerton Books?

The Loss Of Her Husband Is A Large Part Of Violet’s Character In Bridgerton

While Violet does not remarry in the Bridgerton books, the series could shift her story, giving her more to do beyond assisting her children. Violet is in every Bridgerton book, but her role is similar to the series: helping her children discover they are in love and aiding them in achieving happily ever after when needed. She never remarries, as losing her husband Edmund is a large part of her drive to help her children find love, leaving her own pursuits behind.

Violet’s lack of romance in the books does not bar the show from making a few changes, though. Bridgerton has made changes to the books in the past, so allowing Violet to have her own love story is not outside the realm of possibility. By flipping this Queen Charlotte storyline, Bridgerton season 3 could expand its world as well as its characters. This would give the narrative further richness as it explores Violet’s story more thoroughly. Also, it would give viewers yet another great romance to follow as the perpetual matchmaker finds her own happily ever after.
