’9-1-1′ Crew Member Tragically Passes Away in Car Accident After Working a 14-Hour Shift | 9-1-1, RIP | Just Jared: Celebrity News and Gossip

A crew member from the TV series 9-1-1 tragically passed away over the weekend.

Rico Priem died in the early morning hours of Saturday (May 11) after he was involved in a car accident on his way home from work after doing a 14-hour shift.

The 66-year-old crew member’s car drove off the freeway and then flipped over, according to California Highway Patrol. The crash was reported at 4:27am and Priem was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Production wrapped for the day at 4:06am, according to a union official.

IATSE union president Matt Loeb said in a statement (via Variety), “Everyone in the IA family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We are working to support our member’s family, their fellow members and colleagues. Safety in all aspects of the work our members do is our highest priority and we will assist in any investigation in any way that we can.”
