Aaron Rodgers shares hilarious text he sent Jordan Love after Packers’ Week 1 win over Bears

The arrival of Jordan Love in Green Bay led to the chain of events that ended Aaron Rodgers’ time with the Packers, but that hasn’t stopped Rodgers from throwing his support behind his predecessor.

The injured Jets QB appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Friday and shared a text he sent Love after the Packers dismantled the Bears in Week 1, shouting out Love for extending Green Bay’s reign of dominance over its NFC North rival.

“Congrats on keeping the ownership in place,” Rodgers texted Love, referencing the time he yelled, “I still own you!” to the Soldier Field crowd.

Rodgers went 24-5 against the Bears during his time in Green Bay, getting the best of Chicago in the 2010 NFC championship game and winning his last eight contests against the NFC North rival.

The Bears haven’t beaten the Packers since 2018, when they clinched the NFC North with the victory. That was Rodgers’ first loss to Chicago since 2015.

While some viewed the Week 1 showdown between Love and Justin Fields as a potential passing of the torch moment in the division, Love quickly quashed that idea with a terrific performance. He threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns in the 38-20 win, which was marked by an erratic showing from Fields.

Whether the Packers can be sustain success with Love the same way they did with Rodgers is still uncertain. There’s no doubt, however, that the Packers still own the Bears until further notice.

No one is happier to see it than Rodgers, who just might get one more game in Soldier Field next season if the Jets and Bears finish in the same place in their respective divisions this year.
