Amy told Harper’s Bazaar that her gig as a cast member on Saturday Night Live had the largest impact on her.

“It was certainly the first big job I had, where I said my name and got health insurance. I realised, ‘oh, I think I can make a living doing what I want to do,’” Amy explained. “I was waiting tables until I got that job, then I got my teeth fixed, I got an apartment That definitely was the biggest leap for me.”

She added that it was also the first job where she noticed her fame growing.

“I had done a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central and there would be times where people would notice that, but it felt very niche,” she said. “I was performing in New York, and I felt like I had a name for myself there. But certainly, SNL was the first time where I got fan letters.”

As for what was the “scariest” job that she’s had, Amy listed hosting the Golden Globes.

“Hosting the Golden Globes was kind of scary, because it was a live, big event. But it was scary for just a short amount of time and then you learn that you can do a lot of things if you have the right people, partner and team,” she explained. “But that was kind of intense.”
