Angkas wraps up basketball tourney, focuses on riders’ welfare, camaraderie

MANILA, Philippines – Homegrown motorcycle taxi company Angkas, recently wrapped up its basketball tournament, which showcased remarkable skills and camaraderie among its biker-partners.

In its fourth successful season, with 124 participating teams since the league commenced in July, the event showcased the extraordinary talent and sportsmanship of Angkas riders.

Angkas CEO George Royeca, underscored the importance of nurturing a spirit of healthy competition while expressing gratitude to all participants.

“The sportsmanship of our riders has truly shone in this season’s Angkas Basketball Championships. Sports has a unique way of bringing people together, and we’re proud to see our riders embodying this unity. We always want to create an environment where our riders feel valued and appreciated,” Royeca said.

“Beyond the competition, it’s heartwarming to witness the bonds formed and the positive impact sports can have on the lives of our riders. Congratulations to all teams for their outstanding performances, and we look forward to another thrilling season in the future,” Royeca added.

The Taguig Spartans emerged as champions and bagged the P130,000 cash prize.  Additionally, Quadrant Cup winners were rewarded with P20,000 each for their triumph.

The basketball tournament  is just one among several initiatives initiated by Angkas to enhance the well-being of its riders.

The company maintains a dedicated commitment to providing holistic support, addressing their needs, and boosting overall morale.
