MANILA, Philippines — Cris Nievarez and Joanie Delgaco clinched semifinal berths of their respective single sculls competitions in rowing on the Asian Video games on Wednesday at Fuyang Water Sports activities Centre in Hangzhou, China.
Delgaco positioned second in Warmth 1 of the ladies’s single sculls, clocking 8:07 behind Anna Prakaten of Uzbekistan, who had topped the preliminary with a time of seven:42.
Wing Wun Leung of Hong Kong positioned third with an 8:13 end to ebook a semis berth.
Within the males’s single sculls, Nievarez clocked 7:20.51 to achieve the highest three in Warmth 2 and qualify to the semis.
Nievarez was behind Zhang Liang of China, who topped their race with 7:07.55 and second placer Ryuta Arakawa of Japan (7:17.95).
The semifinals will happen on Friday with Nievarez and Delgaco eyeing a medal of their respective divisions.
In the meantime, Edgar Ilas and Zuriel Sumintac certified within the males’s light-weight double sculls repechage after inserting fifth out of six groups in Warmth 2 with a time of 6:48.82.
Uzbekistan superior to the ultimate, clocking 6:20, as second placer Hong Kong, third placer China, Indonesia, and Korea will compete within the repechage on Thursday.
Within the girls’s light-weight double sculls, Feiza Jane Lenton and Kharl Julianne Sha positioned final in Warmth 1 however certified for the repechage.
The Filipino rowers had been the sixth workforce to complete with 7:32.49. China certified for the ultimate with the perfect time of 6:52.43.
