KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan police say at the least 25 folks have been killed in a suspected insurgent assault on a faculty close to the Congo border.

Police stated in a press release Saturday that the Allied Democratic Forces carried out the assault late Friday evening on a faculty within the border city of Mpondwe.

The secondary faculty is positioned about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Congo border.

“A dormitory was burnt and a meals retailer looted. Thus far 25 our bodies have been recovered from the college and transferred to Bwera Hospital,” the assertion stated, including that eight others are in vital situation.

The assertion stated Ugandan authorities troops tracked the attackers into Congolese territory.

It was not instantly clear if all the victims had been college students.
