Beyoncé is glad her fans have stuck around, ’round, ’round, ’round, ’round because she surprised the Bee Hive with a remix of her new hit, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’.
Just days after she dropped her new country album, ‘Country Carter’, she has made headlines and stirred up a conversation surrounding her move to country music. Despite some of the backlash she has received, the ‘Single Ladies’ artist has broken records with her eighth studio album — and her success will continue as she just dropped a new copy of her country hit.
Her new remix is “a real-life boogie and a real-life hoedown” so “don’t be a b—- [and] come take it to the floor now!”

Beyoncé Drops ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ Remix

On Wednesday, April 3, the former Destiny’s Child member dropped a surprise remix to her hit country song, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’, which is titled “Texas Hold ‘Em (Pony Up) Remix’.
Not only does the new version have a New Orleans-inspired sound compared to the original banjos, but there is an entirely new verse!
“Now, I’m gonna need all my cowboys to the dance floor. Get to the dance floor. Woke up this mornin’, my heart keeps racin’ (Woo) / Straight to the bottom, we all need salvation (Come take it to the floor now, ooh) / Need you to end this drought, take me downtown / Gon’ leave the truck, whiskey, baby / Let’s get weak and (Weak and) wasted.”

But that’s not all because the song concludes with the lyrics:
“Chasin’ our sins away, way brown / And I’ll be d-mned if I cannot dance with you / Baby, pour that sugar and liquor on me, too / Furs, spurs, boots (There’s a whole lot of South comin’ out of me, gettin’ money and a whole lot of truth comin’ out) / Solargenic, photogenic, shoot.”
She also added the lyric “And pony up, b-tch, don’t hold back on me / It’s a rodeo, we gon’ do-si-do” to coincide with the new song title.

‘Cowboy Carter’s Collabs

While ‘Cowboy Carter’ features collabs with country music icons such as Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, and Willie Nelson, Beyoncé also worked with several Black female country artists, including Tiera Kennedy, Linda Martell, Brittney Spencer, Reyna Roberts, and Tanner Adell.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the supporters of ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ’16 Carriages’. I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart,” she said prior to her full album release.
Adding, “That would not have happened without the outpouring of support from each and every one of you. My hope is that years from now, the mention of an artist’s race, as it relates to releasing genres of music, will be irrelevant.”

Country Artists Praise Beyoncé For New Album

Miley Cyrus, who worked with the ‘Halo’ singer on the new album, spoke highly of Beyoncé.
“I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her,” Cyrus said of the ‘Crazy In Love’ artist. “My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created alongside of her. Thank you, Beyoncé. You’re everything & more.”
Shaboozey, who has also worked with Beyoncé, took to social media to share, “Honored to be in the company of two historically significant black voices. Love you, Linda Martell, Love you Beyoncé!” The artist collaborated with Martell and Beyoncé on the song ‘Spaghetti’.
