MANILA, Philippines–In an action-packed duel, Ali Canega carved out a 10-round majority decision win over Jhunrick Carcedo late Saturday night at Mandaluyong City College of Science and Technology Gymnasium.

The 25-year-old Canega of the Elorde Fight Team earned the Philippine Boxing Federation super lightweight belt.

In a show staged by Manny Pacquiao: Presents Blow-By-Blow, Canega won by scores of 97-93 and 96-94 on two of the judges’ scorecards while the third judge had it 95-all.

“It was another night of fistic fireworks,” Pacquiao, founder of Blow-By-Blow, said.

Pacquiao, boxing’s only eight-division champion, became the star of the original Blow-by-Blow show during the 1990s.

The win hiked Canega’s unbeaten mark to 10-0 with six knockouts. Carcedo of SanMan Boxing-General Santos City, meanwhile, dropped to 9-3 with nine wins inside the distance.
