Britney Spears and Kevin Federline share two sons and got divorced in 2007
Britney Spears claims she wasn’t aware of Kevin Federline having kids at the time she started dating him in 2004.
Federline had a daughter, Kori, with Shar Jackson and another baby on the way when he began dating Spears.
In her memoir The Woman in Me, the Gimme More hitmaker writes, “Kevin had a ‘bad boy’ image. Still, I had no idea when we met that he had a toddler, nor that his ex-girlfriend was eight months pregnant with his second baby.”
“I was clueless. I was living in a bubble, and I didn’t have a lot of good, close friends to confide in and get advice from. I had no idea until after we’d been together for a while and someone told me, ‘You know he has a new baby, right?’”
The singer, 41, recalls confronting Federline, after which he came clean.
“‘You have kids?’ I said. ‘You have children? Not only one child but two children?’” she writes.
When he began dating Spears, Federline was engaged to Jackson. Shortly after, Jackson had their son, Kaleb. Jackson claimed that he was still with her when he began dating the Princess of Pop.
Spears then married the backup dancer the same year and now shares two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden with him. The singer’s relationship with her sons has been rocky, but she recently met them before they moved to Hawaii with Federline.
Spears and Federline divorced in 2007. Federline now lives with his current wife Victoria Prince, with whom he shares two daughters Jordan and Peyton.
