Britney Spears’ Manager Cade Hudson Denies ‘SNL’ Diss

Cade Hudson, the manager and longtime friend of pop star Britney Spears is denying that he had anything bad to say about the “Saturday Night Live” skit that parodied her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

Last Saturday, in the first episode back after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, comedian Chloe Fineman played Britney Spears and invited other celebrites (played by other comedians) to audition for the role of narrating her memoir. In reality, Britney’s memoir was recorded by actress Michelle Williams.

In an Instagram comment posted on Sunday by a Britney Spears fan account, her longtime friend and manager Cade Hudson appeared to come to her defense as he called out the “Saturday Night Live” skit about her memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

“Wow. The writers of @SNL are getting worse and worse,” Cade Hudson allegedly wrote on Instagram. “No wonder you all reached out to me to get Britney on the show… snl is on life support. You are all pathetic and this Chloe isn’t funny. Did you find her on Craiglist or something?”

In the three-minute skit, Chloe, who played the “Toxic” singer, gushed over the release of her memoir while giving fans a “sneak peek” at celebrity auditions for the voiceover of the book, which included readings from Allison Janney (Heidi Gardner), Martin Scorcese (Timothée Chalamet), John Mulaney (Sarah Sherman), the B52s’ Fred Schneider (Bowen Yang), and Jada Pinkett Smith (Ego Nwodim).

However, Cade Hudson later took to his Instagram Stories to deny that he ever made such a statement in a new post that started circulating from a Cade Hudson fan account.

The longtime music manager denounced the previous statement as “fake news,” adding, “Can’t believe I have to post this… I didn’t comment or make a statement about SNL’s Britney skit. One of my clients fan sites made a Meme and posted it resulting in actual media picking it up as they thought it was real and something I actually posted.” He concluded, “SNL is the best and Chloe is hilarious.”

Although Britney Spears herself has yet to comment on the “SNL” sketch controversy, plenty of her fans took to social media in order to share their own feelings about Chloe Fineman’s portrayal of the Princess of Pop.

Plenty of users voiced their agreement with the user and noted that “SNL” either went “too far” or was “just not funny.” That being said, some users did enjoy the skit, with one netizen calling it “hilarious.”

Britney Spears’ Memoir May Be Turned Into A Movie

As The Blast previously reported, many different celebrities are vying for the rights to turn “The Woman In Me” into a movie or another visual medium.

Celebrities like Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, and Shonda Rhimes are just a few of the names trying to buy the rights to Britney’s book.

According to The Ankler, the bidding range is somewhere in the “mid-eight figures range” for the book, although it seems that Britney, 41, is in no hurry to sell the rights to her life story and has reportedly even rescheduled a meeting with a top producer.

Last month, ahead of the release of her memoir, the “Overprotected” singer told People magazine that she was relieved to finally be able to tell her story on her own terms. “Over the past 15 years or even at the start of my career, I sat back while people spoke about me and told my story for me,” she wrote in an email interview. “After getting out of my conservatorship, I was finally free to tell my story without consequences from the people in charge of my life.”
