On the ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard’ podcast, the singer says she lost her V-card to her first boyfriend, Matthew Hussey, at age 20.
“I had my first relationship at that time,” the 27-year-old recalled, adding that she met Hussey on the ‘Today’ show set. “I was outside where they had the TV with the scripts. I had actually listened to his podcast before … because he had, like, a dating podcast. And he is married now, so congratulations.”
“We went to dinner that night, and that was my first relationship,” Cabello continued. “It was late for my first relationship. I was 20.”

Host Dax Shepard then asked Cabello if she had intercourse before that, which is when she confessed, “No! That was my first time having sex. First lovemaking was at 20, 21. … It was literally lovemaking. It was beautiful.”
According to the CDC, the average age for women to lose their virginity is 17.1 years old, but Cabello waited a few more years until she found the right man.

“It was like, ‘Oh my God, have you ever seen ‘Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown’ and have you ever seen Studio Ghibli films?’ He just really expanded my references,” the singer continued.

And we, like, started writing this song [‘Señorita’]. Then after that, we like, spent a lot of time with each other because we had the song together and we did a whole Jingle Ball tour together. And that’s really when the f-cking saga started. I really liked him. I guess he liked me, but I don’t really know.”
