Actress Courteney Cox is making fun of her haircut from the third ‘Scream’ movie, calling the look absolutely ’embarrassing.’
In the third film of the horror movie franchise, her character Gale Weathers had a very… “iconic” hairdo as her bangs were about an inch long, which looked absolutely “ridiculous.”
MEGAIn the past, the actress addressed her infamous haircut, which she admits she regretted.
“Oh that was the worst,” she said a few years ago regarding the bangs, “There was nothing worse. That was a big lesson in life because that will forever be on film.”
Now, Cox is addressing that haircut again, this time continuing to make fun of herself!

In a video shared to her Instagram page, Cox is seen petting her dog when her friend walks up wearing a hoodie featuring a photo of Cox’s character, Gale, from the third ‘Scream’, movie, where she has that infamous bangs haircut.
Once Courteney Cox sees the sweatshirt, she immediately tells her friend, “Don’t wear that sweatshirt — the bangs? Come on, that’s ridiculous. That’s embarrassing.”
What many fans don’t realize is that the bangs that Cox’s character in ‘Scream’ had were not the actress’s real bangs — they were clip-ins.
“One set of bangs. I remember they were cut on the set. You are supposed to have a thing that starts back here, far back and that’s where the part goes for the bangs,” Cox explained told PEOPLE a few years back. “For some reason, they put it here [pointing toward the center of her head] and started cutting it and I was like, ‘Well I don’t have a choice now.’”
The ‘Scream’ bangs were not the only hairstyle plastered on the front of a sweatshirt as in the video, Cox then walks into a tent where more of her friends are hanging out — all wearing hoodies of some of Courteney’s iconic hairstyles, including the one her ‘Friends’ character had during her trip to Barbados.
Fans of the actress loved the video, as one user wrote, “Hahahahahaha. I want all the sweatshirts. Please and thank you.”
Another said, “The big hair was actually iconic!” referring to Monica Gellar’s humidity hair from ‘Friends’.
As we said, this isn’t he first time Cox made fun of herself for the ‘Scream’ bangs as on Halloween in 2020, the actress recreated her Gale Weathers ‘Scream 3’, captioning the selfie, “Not the bangs!!!!!!!!”
The selfie featured Ghost Face standing behind Cox with a pair of scissors.
