According to a report, friends and family of country star and former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker are concerned for his well-being following his recent DUI arrest.

Before the DUI incident, Rucker had publicly claimed sobriety for ten years. However, his arrest and a previous drug-related incident over a year ago have raised alarm bells among loved ones, prompting discussions about staging an intervention to support him in getting back on track.

An insider who spoke to the National Enquirer (per Radar Online) shared: “Darius swore he was clean for years, and now this has people thinking he needs help to get back on track!”

Rucker was previously arrested in February 2023 during a traffic stop when authorities reported detecting a “strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle” and the subsequent discovery of 14 unstamped purple pills and a THC pen.

However, despite being released on a $10,500 bail, Rucker is reportedly anxious amid discussions among loved ones about potential intervention.

Following the arrest, Rucker’s ex-girlfriend, Kate Quigley, criticized him and described his situation as “Karma,” referencing past remarks he made about her health after her 2021 overdose incident with fentanyl-laced cocaine, which resulted in the death of three of her friends.
