Rapper DDG is speaking out on how his girlfriend, Halle Bailey, is handling motherhood just days after announcing the birth of their son.
After months of speculation that ‘The Little Mermaid’ actress was pregnant, she confirmed the news earlier this month by sharing on social media that she had welcomed her first child — Halo.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo,” Bailey wrote on social media earlier this month.
“The world is desperate to know you,” the actress added.
Now that DDG and Halle Bailey have been parents for just over a week, the rapper is speaking out and reflecting on his journey of being a father, and how Bailey is already a “professional mom.”
Halle Bailey Is A ‘Professional’ Mom
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, the 26-year-old rapper opened up about his and Bailey’s journey into parenting for the first time, but he couldn’t help but give most of the credit to the ‘The Color Purple’ star, calling her a “great mom.”
“Me and Halle had a baby together. I wouldn’t chose no other person in the world to have a child with,” he said in the video adding that the two are “learning” but Halle Bailey is “amazing.”
“She’s a professional mom,” he added.

Prior to her announcement, she faced a ton of comments from fans, claiming that they knew she was pregnant, who spoke out on her body and figure. In November, Bailey responded to a fan who claimed that she had a “pregnancy nose”.
“Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be h–l to pay,” she said in a video addressing the comment.
“And you know why?” she added,“‘Cause I am black. I love my nose.”
Rumors surrounding Bailey being pregnant first began after she shared a photo collage on social media, featuring herself in a purple swimsuit. The photos seemingly covered her stomach area, which prompted fans to believe she was pregnant — and clearly, they were right.

After the actress announced the birth of her newborn son, fans could not believe that she was actually pregnant the entire time. “SO SHE WAS PREGNANT ALL ALONG WHAT ?!” one user commented.
Another fan respected Bailey for keeping her pregnancy a secret, writing, “I hid my pregnancy too … privacy is beautiful.. congratulations y’all!”
This is something another one of her fans wrote. “Congratulations on protecting your peace and energy during one of the most beautiful and life-changing times,” they commented on the photo.
Others simply congratulated the couple, sharing things such as “The sweetest announcement! Congratulations” and “Congratulations honey.”
