Eagles vs. Buccaneers live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football’ game

Two of the NFL’s few remaining undefeated teams will meet at Raymond James Stadium as the Eagles visit the Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.”

After making a run to Super Bowl 57, Philadelphia’s 2-0 start to the season was somewhat expected, while Tampa Bay’s 2-0 start has been a pleasant surprise for those who doubted the franchise after the retirement of Tom Brady and the addition of his replacement, former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield.

Mayfield has played clean, mistake-free football for the Bucs this season, completing 47 of his 68 pass attempts for three touchdowns with no interceptions. In Tampa’s Week 2 win over Chicago, Mayfield threw for 317 yards, including six completions to Mike Evans, who finished with 171 yards in the game.

Given the high expectations, the Eagles 2-0 start hasn’t been as clean as some may have liked, but quarterback Jalen Hurts made sure to emphasize that “winning is the only thing that truly matters,” as the team looks to improve week to week. Hurts and his Eagles offense are in for a test against a Bucs defense that stuffs the run and has forced five turnovers in two games.

Eagles vs. Buccaneers live updates, highlights from ‘Monday Night Football’

(All times Eastern)

Second quarter

8:35 p.m.: FUMBLE! Make that two turnovers for the Buccaneers in their last three offensive plays.

Jalen Carter successfully punches the ball out of Rachaad White’s hands and Philadelphia gets the ball back on Tampa Bay’s 36-yard line with 24 seconds left and another opportunity to add to the score before halftime.

8:32 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! A miscommunication between Jalen Hurts and DeVonta Smith results in an interception by Buccaneers LB Devin White. It’s Hurts’ second interception of the season and the second of White’s career.

Philadelphia squanders an opportunity to take advantage of getting the ball in Tampa Bay territory.

8:22 p.m.: INTERCEPTION! The Buccaneers commit their first turnover of the season as Baker Mayfield has a pass intended for Chris Godwin picked off by Reed Blankenship.

Philadelphia will take over at Tampa Bay’s 37-yard line and has an opportunity to build upon its lead with a short field and 2:32 remaining in the half.

As a reminder, the Eagles will also get the ball back to start the second half.

8:17 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Jalen Hurts drops back and makes the most of his time in the pocket, absorbing a big hit to connect with Olamide Zaccheaus for a 34-yard touchdown.

It’s Zacchaeus’ first touchdown in an Eagles uniform after spending the first four seasons of his career with Atlanta. Jake Elliott connects on the PAT to give Philadelphia a seven-point lead.

The Eagles’ scoring drive took eight plays and covered 84 yards over 5:01. 3:32 remains in the half.

Eagles 10, Buccaneers 3

8:06 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Tampa Bay’s best drive of the game ends with three as Chase McLaughlin nails a 33-yard field goal.

On third-and-8, Baker Mayfield failed to connect with Mike Evans, who still had a chance to catch the pass despite an adept play on the ball by rookie safety Sydney Brown.

Things are now all tied up with 8:33 remaining in the second.

Eagles 3, Buccaneers 3

7:56 p.m.: The Bucs send a blitz on third-and-5 and Jalen Hurts is forced to throw the ball away after scrambling out of the pocket. Braden Mann’s punt is fair caught by Tampa Bay at its own 16-yard line, which is where it will begin its fourth drive of the game.

End of first quarter: Eagles 3, Buccaneers 0

7:53 p.m.: We get our first Jalen Hurts scramble of the night as the first quarter comes to a close. Philadelphia’s QB1 gains five yards to bring up second-and-5 at their own 46-yard line.

7:49 p.m.: It’s a quick three and out for the Buccaneers, who punt the ball back to the Eagles.

It’s not quite as explosive of a return for Britain Covey, but Philadelphia will start its drive at its own 19-yard line after Covey fielded the punt inside the 5-yard line.

7:44 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Jake Elliott connects on a 36-yard attempt to put Philadelphia on the board first with 3:05 remaining in the first quarter.

After the Eagles began the drive in Buccaneers territory, Tampa Bay’s defense holds its opponent to three.

Eagles 3, Buccaneers 0

7:38 p.m.: An injury situation to monitor: Buccaneers starting CB Jamel Dean slowly walked off the field after going down. Tampa Bay is already without a starting CB in Carlton Davis.

The Eagles have driven to the Tampa Bay 13-yard line and will look to leave the red zone with points this time.

7:33 p.m.: Similar to their first drive, the Buccaneers get one first down and are forced off the field.

An explosive 52-yard punt return from Britain Covey gives Philadelphia incredible field position. Based on the crowd reaction, there is a large Eagles contingent at Raymond James Stadium.

The Eagles will begin their drive at Tampa Bay’s 44-yard line.

7:26 p.m.: TURNOVER ON DOWNS! Philadelphia quickly marches down the field but sees its drive stalled at the 14-yard line. On fourth-and-2, Kenneth Gainwell is stymied at the line and Tampa Bay will take over after its defense stands strong.

Aside from the way it ended, it was a largely encouraging drive for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts went 4 of 5 for 53 yards including two passes to A.J. Brown for 44 yards.

7:20 p.m.: The Eagles defense gets off the field after Baker Mayfield is unable to connect with Mike Evans on third-and-8.

A 48-yard punt from Jake Camarda is returned to the Philadelphia 25 and Jalen Hurts is set to take the field with the Eagles offense for the first time tonight.

7:15 p.m.: The Buccaneers will start the game on offense as the Eagles won the opening coin toss and deferred to receive the ball in the second half.

Game on in Tampa.

Pregame

6 p.m.: Both the Eagles and Buccaneers have reported their list of inactives for “Monday Night Football.”

Inactive for Philadelphia: WR Quez Watkins, QB Tanner McKee, CB Mario Goodrich, RB Boston Scott, OL Tyler Steen, DT Moro Ojomo and TE Albert Okwuegbunam.

Inactive for Tampa Bay: LB Sirvocea Dennis, CB Carlton Davis III, DT Deadrin Senat, OLB Markees Watts, OL Brandon Walton, TE Payne Durham and DL Calijah Kancey.

4:05 p.m.: The Eagles have announced a potentially significant roster move, as WR Devon Allen has been elevated from the practice squad for Week 3.

Allen, 28, is far from the typical speedy WR. The Oregon product is a two-time Olympian, having represented the United States in the 110-meter hurdles at the Olympic Games in 2016 and 2021.

After several years away from football, Allen joined Philadelphia’s practice squad in 2022. One year later, he is in line to make his NFL debut on the primetime stage.
