Actress and Scientologist Elisabeth Moss‘ father, Ron Moss, has passed away at the age of 79. The news of his death was revealed by his grandson Max, who is also the executor of his estate.
Ron reportedly passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones. Like his daughter, Elisabeth, the professional musician was also a Scientologist and had a close relationship with the father of the organization’s leader, David Miscavige.

According to his grandson, Moss passed away in Clearwater, Florida on Thursday night. A statement by the family reveals that he died after a “brief battle with an infection.” The 79-year-old was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of his demise.
The statement from Ron’s grandson read, “Ron made so many friends throughout his rich life and we want everyone to know that you all meant so much to him. Thank you for everything that any of you did for him throughout his life.”
Ron was a skilled trombone player who performed professionally for most of his life. The professional musician, who was a known Scientologist, allegedly performed with the father of Miscavige, the leader of his church.
Ron managed a number of well-known performers, including Isaac Hayes and Chick Corea. The latter is reportedly the godfather of his daughter, Elisabeth.
Although Ron was born and raised in Birmingham, England, he and his ex-wife, Linda, brought up the “The Handmaid’s Tale” star and her brother Derek in the United States, specifically in Los Angeles.
The actress has yet to speak on the death of her father.
