Fall Out Boy Carry out “We Didn’t Begin the Fireplace” at MTV VMAs 2023: Watch

Fall Out Boy are again on the MTV Video Music Awards stage for the third time, performing “We Didn’t Begin the Fireplace,” which updates the Billy Joel hit with lyrics about information occasions from 1989 to 2023. Singer Patrick Stump and bassist Pete Wentz wore outsized fits, à la David Byrne in Cease Making Sense, whereas flames lit up the stage. Fall Out Boy performed their latest single exterior of the Prudential Middle in Newark, New Jersey. Watch all of it go down under.

Fall Out Boy are competed for 2 Moon Individual statues this night: the music “Maintain Me Like a Grudge” was up for Greatest Different, whereas their “Love From the Different Aspect” video bought a nod for Greatest Visible Results. The emo quartet first carried out on the VMAs in 2005, after they performed their hit single “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down.” In 2007, they returned to this system with a dwell renditions of “Shut Up and Drive” that includes Rihanna and “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs.” Tonight’s efficiency marked Fall Out Boy’s first time taking part in on the VMAs in 16 years.
