Fantasy Injury Updates Week 10: Latest news on Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Drake London, more WRs

With the Chiefs, Eagles, Dolphins, and Rams on bye, fantasy football owners will be without the services of several of the league’s most potent fantasy wide receivers: Tyreek Hill, A.J. Brown, and Cooper Kupp. To further complicate the Week 10 WR pool, several key wideouts (Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Drake London, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba) have landed on their team’s initial injury reports. While it’s an added bonus that Deebo Samuel and Christian Watson are on track to suit up this Sunday, fantasy owners will still need to check for updates on several worrisome WRs.

Below, we’ll give you the latest news on these pass catchers and break down how their injuries could potentially affect the Week 10 fantasy landscape.

Ja’Marr Chase injury update, Week 10 fantasy outlook

Chase (back) was listed as a DNP to begin the practice week after he landed awkwardly on his back in Sunday night’s 24-18 win over the Bills. NBC’s broadcast later panned to him using a heat wrap on the sidelines. He finished the game, but he reportedly sounded “concerned” about the injury afterward.

A DNP on Wednesday isn’t the end of the world for his Week 10 prospects, but another missed practice on Thursday complicates his status for Sunday’s home tilt against the Texans. Should Chase fail to play in Week 10, fellow wideouts Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd would assume the majority of Cincinnati’s target share. Higgins and Boyd would vault into must-start territory, while Cincinnati’s tight ends would make for intriguing DFS value plays.

Justin Jefferson injury update, Week 10 fantasy outlook

Although NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Vikings are set to open up Jefferson’s (hamstring) 21-day practice window this week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that head coach Kevin O’Connell told the media it would be “a little aggressive” to think that Jefferson could play Sunday.

According to the Vikings Week 10 injury report, Jefferson logged a limited session on Wednesday, boosting his chances of potentially returning to game action soon. As for Minnesota’s Week 10 aerial attack, expect Jordan Addison, Brandon Powell, and T.J. Hockenson to see a heavy workload from recently acquired QB Josh Dobbs. With WR K.J. Osborn (concussion) unlikely to suit up this week, all three pass-catchers garner starting consideration in 12-team formats.

Drake London injury update, Week 10 fantasy outlook

London (groin) got in a limited practice session on Wednesday after landing on the team’s inactive list in Week 9. Falcons’ coach Arthur Smith said London is “trending in the right direction,” seemingly putting him on track to play in Arizona. He’d be a WR3 in a plus matchup against a reeling Cardinals defense.

In the off chance London misses his second straight game, fellow WR KhaDarel Hodge, who totaled three catches for 60 yards in Week 9, would again see an increased workload.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba injury update, Week 10 fantasy outlook

Smith-Njigba (hip) logged a DNP on Wednesday. While a Wednesday DNP is nothing to freak out about, if Smith-Njigba fails to practice the next two days, there’s a real possibility he will miss the first game of his career. The first-round rookie has steadily improved in year one, totaling double-digit PPR points in three straight weeks.

If Smith-Njigba can avoid a place on Seattle’s Week 10 inactive list, he’s a viable flex play in a juicy matchup against a Commanders stop unit that’s allowing the third most fantasy points per game to WRs.
