Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Flash Annual 2024 Annual #1!The Flash has an amazing new cosmic costume and it’s one that puts him in the same league as the DC Universe’s coolest gods. As reality continues to come apart at the seams, the Fastest Man Alive is donning a new costume to take on the most challenging experience of his life.

In The Flash Annual 2024 Annual #1 by Simon Spurrier, Tom Derenick, Scott Koblish, George Kambadais, and Amancay Nahuelpan, Wally West is traveling throughout the SpectraVerse and kills an Uncoiled. Using its skull, the Flash fashions a helmet to help him withstand the most exotic planes of existence.

As Flash traverses through the SpectraVerse, his new costume begins to take form from one made of cosmic light to a more solid, mechanical appearance. Using his new outfit, Wally phases in between different layers of reality, spotting his family fighting to keep the DC Universe stable.

The Flash Has an Outfit Perfect for Traveling the SpectraVerse

Several of the Flash’s enemies have united under the command of an unknown being to launch an all-out assault on reality. Shortly before their plan kicked into high gear, Wally had an encounter with the Mirror Master that left the Flash with a new power that allowed him to travel to other layers of existence, a realm later called the SpectraVerse. Unfortunately, this new look into reality came with the discovery that speedster powers were having an adverse effect on the DC Universe. At least, that’s what villains like Gorilla Grodd and Folding Man have been leading the speedsters to believe.

The Flash has been spending more time in the SpectraVerse and has discovered how dangerous it really is. Between beings like the Uncoiled and the mathshrooms of the fungal dimension, there are a lot of strange and dangerous things all around the Scarlet Speedster. It’s only good sense to protect himself by making a new costume that can survive this harsh reality (doubly so out of making it from the remains of an Uncoiled). Not to mention, Wally’s new outfit looks like something that would fit right in the New Gods, appropriate for the Flash’s strange cosmic journey.

The Flash Finally Has the Outfit His New Era Deserves

The New Gods have all explored the strangest and most dangerous realms in the DC Universe. Wally is the first person from Earth to discover the SpectraVerse and it’s only right that he has an outfit that represents the odd, high-concept journey he’s currently on. Not to mention, it seems to be doing the job of keeping Wally safe as he runs all across these bizarre dimensions. Hopefully, the Flash’s new look will stay for a while, or at least as long as Wally is dedicated to seeing everything the SpectraVerse has to offer.
