Fruit Of The Loom Fires Back At TikToker Who Talks About Mandela Effect

When a TikTok creator named Nicole started to do a deep dive into some popular Mandela Effects, she found herself researching the old Fruit of the Loom logo. Nicole, along with many others online, remember the clothing company using a cornucopia in their logo but the company says that’s just not true.

After Nicole shared her researching on TikTok, the company decided to enter the chat and ultimately get some of her videos taken down.

Not long after starting a conversation on TikTok about Fruit of the Loom using a cornucopia in their logo back in the day, Nicole started getting notifications that her videos were being removed for “violating our Community Guidelines.”

The TikToker who goes by @dimelifting on the app recently shared some update videos explaining just what’s going on.

“My videos are suddenly getting taken down all out of the blue,” she said. “Weird thing is it’s every video where I mentioned Fruit of the Loom. Not a single other video.”

Nicole shared a screenshot in her video that shows the reason for it being removed as “integrity and authenticity.”

She then explained that while she did make one false claim in a previous video, there are a lot of issues going on.

Popular TikTok creator Elyse Myers dropped into the comments to share, “I learned what the word cornucopia was from the fruit of the loom logo. I called it a basket and my grandma said, ‘that’s a cornucopia!’ in Costco. 😂”

Another viewer added, “Fruit of the Loom is literally the only reason I know what a cornucopia is.”

One other pointed out, “All they had to do was admit the cornucopia existed to avoid this exposé.”

Another viewer gave a little more insight saying, “I live in the same town as their HQ… there was a cornucopia. Saw their logo all over my town all my life up until their brand change.”

Nicole found it “ironic” that instead of the clothing giant “acknowledging anything that they did wrong,” they just tried to get her TikTok videos taken down.

“When I said, ‘Hey, give me the correct information and I’ll take them down,’ they just went dark and now they’re just back to posting silly content as if we forget,” she said. “I’d like to think a business can change except they were notified in 2018 that they have toxic levels of BPA in their clothes and I’ve yet to see any evidence that they’ve done anything about it.”

Nicole’s content went from talking about the existence of the cornucopia in the logo to revealing all the things she’s found while “going down rabbit holes.”

In another follow up video, Nicole explained that Fruit of the Loom is working to get her account banned on TikTok.

“They’re accusing me of trademark infringement, but trademark of what, because you said there was no cornucopia,” she said. “It’s wild to me that they’ll literally do anything except for acknowledge what they did wrong.”

She further explained that if anyone is interested in seeing how this all plays out, they should follow her backup account just in case.

“TikTok is currently my only source of income so it’s very frustrating to me that because I pointed out that they got out of paying millions and millions and millions of dollars their response is to take away my income,” she said.
