The day after she was released on parole, the 32-year-old shared her ‘first selfie of freedom,’ which gained 3.2 million likes in less than seven hours.

Last night, Gypsy Rose had approximately 112,000 followers. Now, just hours after she posted her first post-prison selfie, the 32-year-old has 2.4 million followers (as of 5:50 p.m. ET on December 28) — and the number continues to grow by the minute.
One of her followers noticed the massive amount of followers Gypsy now has as they commented, “Dang sis I went to sleep and u had 112k now you have 1 million that’s queen status.” That comment was shared a few hours ago, and Gypsy now has over 2 million.
Many reality television stars commented on Gypsy’s post, including Nick Viall of Bachelor Nation who commented, “Icon,” and Logan Crosby, a contestant on ‘Claim to Fame’, who wrote, “YES MAAM LETS GOOOO.”

Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s story was first told in the 2017 documentary ‘Mommy Dead and Dearest.’
The documentary followed Gypsy’s mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, who abused her daughter — physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Investigators believe that Dee Dee had Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a psychological disorder where a caretaker makes others believe that their child (or the person they are taking care of) is ill to receive attention.
Dee Dee claimed Gypsy was not only vision and hearing impaired, but that she suffered from asthma, epilepsy, Down syndrome, and more. She went as far as stating Gypsy was diagnosed with leukemia and muscular dystrophy, including being paralyzed from the waist down, claiming she needed a wheelchair.
Not only did Dee Dee convince Gypsy that she suffered from various medical conditions, but she also convinced doctors to prescribe medication and perform unnecessary surgeries. According to medical records shown in the 2017 docuseries, Dee Dee took her daughter to the hospital over 100 times from 2005 to 2014.

In 2015, Gypsy Rose realized the abuse she endured, and conspired to kill her mother, as she felt there was no other way out, with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.
The two carried out the plan Dee Dee was found stabbed to death in her house, which was done by Nicholas, while Gypsy was in the other room.
Gypsy pled guilty and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with the possibility of parole after she completes 85% of her sentence. On Thursday, December 28, she served seven years and was eligible for parole.
She was released around 3:30 a.m. local time.
