How to watch Michael Penix Jr.’s pro day: Time, TV channel & what to expect in Washington QB’s NFL Draft workout

The Washington Huskies will host their pro day this Thursday to allow for their NFL prospects to showcase to all 32 teams ahead of the 2024 NFL draft.

One of those prospects will be 2023 Heisman Trophy finalist Michael Penix Jr., who also threw at the NFL Scouting Combine in early March.

At the combine, Penix Jr. did measurements and threw the football. He declined to participate in drills like the 40-yard dash. His marks from the NFL combine are recorded below.

Penix Jr. caught the attention of the league over his past two seasons with the Huskies. He’s thrown for over 4,500 yards in each of the last two seasons, tossing nearly 5,000 yards in 2023.

He also finished with 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions last season. He’s not a rushing, dual-threat quarterback, finishing with just eight yards on the season.

Penix Jr. will have a chance to make up ground for some of his drawbacks. His health is a concern, as he played in double-digit games for the first time in his career in 2022.

He’s also older than most NFL draft prospects. He played four years at Indiana before playing the final two of his collegiate career at Washington. He is 23 years old.

Here are Penix Jr.’s measurements from the combine.

Height: 6’2″ Weight: 216 pounds Arm: 33 5/8″ Hand: 10 1/2″

Michael Penix Jr. 2024 NFL Draft projection

In his latest mock draft, The Sporting News’ Vinnie Iyer projects no one will take Penix Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The last quarterback Iyer has being drafted in the first round is Oregon’s Bo Nix. The Broncos draft him with the No. 12 pick in Iyer’s mock draft. Here’s what he wrote about Nix.

“The Broncos are down to Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci on their QB depth chart after moving Russell Wilson. Much like the Commanders, Patriots, and Vikings, they are screaming to everyone they will draft a potential franchise passer for Sean Payton. They seem to like Nix’s arm and athleticism, which fits their draft position.”
