Exclusive behind-the-scenes images, which was obtained by People, saw Cena standing in an Oscars corridor, clad only in a modesty pouch designed to conceal his intimate areas. This pouch essentially consisted of underwear providing coverage both front and back. Thus, despite the appearance that the professional wrestler could expose himself at any moment, the Oscars wardrobe team ensured that such an incident was averted.

It was a nod to a memorable Oscars moment from the past.
“At the 46th Academy Awards, 1974, David Niven was in the middle of introducing Elizabeth Taylor when a nude man – a streaker – ran across the stage,” host Jimmy Kimmel reminisced while introducing Cena. “Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today?”

“Honestly, you should feel shame right now for suggesting such a tasteless idea,” Cena retorted to Kimmel, emphasizing, “The male body is not a joke.”

“Costumes… they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is,” Cena remarked, alluding to his own unconventional attire.
Kimmel then offered after Cena said, “I can’t open the envelope,” then announced the nominations so the actor could stay fully covered.

Kimmel kicked off the show by directly addressing the Oscars snub of Greta Gerwig.
“I know that winning an Oscar is something you’ve dreamed about since you were a kid, and now here we are, all dressed up celebrating the best of the best beginning with the biggest movie of the year: Barbie,” Kimmel said in his opening monologue. “Now Barbie is a feminist icon thanks to Greta Gerwig, who many believed deserved to be nominated for Best Director.”
Several awards have already been announced, with Da’Vine Joy Randolph winning Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in “The Holdovers.”
“War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko” triumphed in the category of Best Animated Short Film, while “The Boy and the Heron” took home the award for Best Animated Feature Film.
