Justice's Comeback Continues With Heady New Single, "Incognito": Listen

Justice have dropped another breadcrumb on their comeback trail after releasing “Incognito,” a new single from their long-awaited fourth album, Hyperdrama.

It’s clear the iconic dance music duo haven’t lost their retrofuturistic touch. With enough French house energy to power a small city, the heady “Incognito” is signature Justice.

Thanks to its wide palette of instrumental sounds, like distorted disco riffs and vintage snare cracks, the kaleidoscopic track is a rollercoaster ride through a 1980s arcade. Bringing it all home, Justice close the arrangement with a haunting vocal coda that lingers long after its last beat.

“Like many songs on this record, it switches from all electronic to all human music abruptly, multiple times within its four-minute run,” Justice said of the new single. “The structure is dictated by what feels good at the moment it happens, without necessarily following any other rule. We had to unlearn everything we thought we knew about song structures, and music in general, when we started working on Hyperdrama, which was very refreshing.”

The new single follows the Tame Impala-assisted “One Night/All Night” and “Generator,” the latter of which released alongside a bewildering music video depicting a robot sex scene.

In other Justice news, they recently announced a 2024 tour kicking off in mid-April by virtue of their performance at this year’s Coachella festival, where they’ll debut a new live show. The influential duo is also rumored to have a collaboration with The Weeknd in the works.

Hyperdrama is scheduled to release on April 26th via Ed Banger Records/Because Music. You can pre-order vinyl copies of the album and pre-save it digitally here.
