ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Kansas City, Missouri, woman was issued a summons to appear in St. Louis County Circuit Court next month for allegedly stealing several chips from River City Casino worth $1,000 apiece.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s probable cause statement, the theft occurred on June 11, 2023.
Investigators claim Jasmine D. Drone (age not provided) could be seen reaching into a tray holding gaming cheques (chips) on a table, taking 17 purple chips, and fleeing from the casino.
The casino informed authorities that they were able to identify Drone as the culprit because she’d attempted to rent a room at the hotel earlier that day and provided the casino a photo of her ID.
The stolen purple cheques were taken out of play and promptly replaced.

In the ensuing months, investigators claim several people entered the casino and attempted to cash in the stolen chips. When interviewed, they said Drone gave them the chips to cash in.
Five months after the original theft, a woman approached a casino employee and attempted to cash in a stolen chip. When the employee asked for her identification, the woman left the chip behind and drove away in a black 2020 Chevrolet Equinox.
St. Louis County police and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped the Equinox. They claim Drone was lying down in the backseat of the vehicle. The driver said Drone had asked to cash the chip for her.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Drone with one count of stealing – $750 or more. Drone is due in court on June 6.
