Anna Kaiser, who is Kelly Ripa’s trainer, is speaking out on the popularity of Ozempic, and why people need to move away from the drug.
Ozempic has become popular for weight loss, as it is approved to treat Type 2 diabetes and has weight loss as a prominent side effect, meaning it’s often prescribed off-label.
As of late, some celebrities have been looking slimmer, and Ozempic is always assumed to be why. However, this can be misleading as not everyone is on Ozempic. In fact, Kelly Ripa’s trainer is urging people to steer clear of the drug.

Kelly Ripa’s Trainer Speaks On Ozempic

Anna Kaiser says the world needs to “get back to a place where we think of food as fuel and nourishment.”
“I feel like in this moment where people are focused on losing weight with drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic, we need to get back to a place where we think of food as fuel and nourishment,” she told E!, adding, “and less about how much we’re eating and more about what we’re eating and when we’re eating it.”
When someone receives an Ozempic shot, “their body isn’t craving foods, so they’re eating a lot less and then what happens is they’re going to burn muscle,” Kaiser said.
With less muscle, “their metabolism slows down, so when they go off of the drug they’re going to gain that weight back much more quickly,” she continued.

Kelly Ripa’s trainer recently spoke out on what the morning talk show host does in the gym as a normal workout routine to stay fit and healthy.
“I program the perfect combination of muscular endurance and power to make sure she continues to maintain/build muscle and get the right amount of heart-healthy cardio without hitting adrenal fatigue,” she told POPSUGAR of Ripa’s typical routine.
Here’s what a typical week of workouts might look like for Ripa, according to Kaiser:
“I program her workouts to complement the other activities in her week and bring more energy, vitality, and clarity to her days,” Kaiser added.

“The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for. I’m absolutely done with the shaming from other people and particularly myself,” she told People last year.
“I realized I’d been blaming myself all these years for being overweight, and I have a predisposition that no amount of willpower is going to control,” she told the outlet.

“I lost 42 pounds now and it’s just enough,” she said during an episode of Piers Morgan’s podcast. “I didn’t actually want to go this thin, but it just happened and I’ll probably put it all on again soon.”
When speaking on side effects, she said the number one issue she had was nausea.
“You don’t throw up physically but you’ve got that feeling,” she added. “I was about two, three weeks where I felt nauseous the whole time. You get very thirsty and you don’t want to eat. That’s it.”
Chelsea Handler Says Her Doctor ‘Hands Ozempic Out’

Earlier this year, Chelsea Handlersaid her anti-aging doctor “just hands (Ozempic) out to anybody.”
“I didn’t even know I was on it. [My doctor] said, ‘If you ever want to drop 5 pounds, this is good,’” Handler said.
The comedian then returned from a vacation, which is when she decided to take an injection of the drug, without fully understanding what it was or what it did to your body.
“I went to lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she was like, ‘I’m not really eating anything. I’m so nauseous, I’m on Ozempic,’” she recalled. “And I was like, ‘I’m kind of nauseous too.’ But I had just come back from Spain and was jet-lagged.”
