LCD Soundsystem have announced another New York–area residency, which will span a dozen performances in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens in November and December. Three of the shows are for American Express cardholders only. Check out all of the dates below.
Earlier this year, LCD Soundsystem played a handful of shows for the touring Re:Set concert series, where they were joined by Jamie xx, Idles, Big Freedia, and more. They’ve made other recent appearances at festivals like Miami’s III Points and Arkansas’ Format Festival, along with their previous residencies in London, Philadelphia, Boston, and Brooklyn. The 2021 Brooklyn stint was cut short over resurgent rates of COVID-19 in New York.
Last March, bandleader James Murphy published a lengthy “state of the union” update about LCD Soundsystem, where he addressed the band’s 20th anniversary, their performance residencies, and the potential for new music. Later in the year, the group released a new song titled “New Body Rhumba” for the Netflix adaptation of Don DeLillo’s novel White Noise, which earned LCD Soundsystem an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
