Listen to FREAK ON's House Twist of Shannon's '80s Anthem, "Let The Music Play"

In 1983, Shannon released “Let the Music Play,” an anthem that ultimately defined a decade of dance-pop. Now, FREAK ON has revitalized the classic with a contemporary house twist.

The anticipation for the release was sky-high after the track had already received support from house music heavyweights like John Summit, Noizu, ACRAZE, Dom Dolla and more. It’s now out on Thrive Music, introducing the influential tune to a new generation of dance music enthusiasts.

FREAK ON’s rendition seamlessly blends the song’s timeless melody with a pulsing bassline and groove-infused house rhythm, transporting us to a vintage dancefloor.

“I was working out in the gym listening to an 80s playlist when the original came on in shuffle, I thought it would be dope to make a modern edit because the vocals are so epic. So that day I rushed back to the studio and threw the edit together and the rest is history.”
