Masters 2024 live golf scores, results, highlights from Saturday’s Round 3 leaderboard

The field has been cut at the 2024 Masters, and those in contention at Augusta are one step closer to securing the green jacket.

After a rainy and windy Thursday morning delayed the start of the prestigious major, the first two rounds of the Masters wrapped up Friday evening. Now, Round 3 kicks off Saturday as those still in contention embark on the final 36 holes.

Bryson DeChambeau led the field after Round 1, shooting seven under par to start his tournament. But there’s a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard entering Saturday. DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler and Max Homa are all 6-under par.

One of the biggest storylines this weekend was the return of Tiger Woods, who was forced to withdraw from the 2023 edition of the major due to his ankle.

Despite operating at less than 100 percent health, the five-time Masters champion managed to make the cut for the 24th consecutive time at Augusta. It’s a historic achievement, as Woods broke a tie with Fred Couples and Gary Player for the most cuts made in a row at the Masters.

While there were plenty that survived the cut line, there were a number of prominent names who did not. Included in those who failed to make it to the weekend are former Masters champions Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson.

The Sporting News is tracking all the key moments from Saturday’s Round 3 of the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Masters live updates, results, highlights from Saturday’s Round 3

(All times Eastern.)

5:32 p.m.: On the 12th hole, it’s another bogey for Nicolai Hojgaard. After gaining three strokes on Holes 8-10 with three birdies, the Danish golfer immediately gives two back with back-to-back bogeys. With Bryson DeChambeau shooting a bogey on the 11th hole, it’s now a three-way tie for first with Ludvig Aberg, Collin Morikawa and Max Homa.

5:23 p.m.: After three birdies in a row, Nicolai Hojgaard comes back down to Earth with a bogey on the 11th hole. Ludvig Aberg follows shortly after with a birdie on the 13th hole and it’s now a five-way tie for first place — Hojgaard, Aberg, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Bryson DeChambeau.

5:20 p.m.: Tiger Woods ends his day shooting par on the 18th hole, but the damage is done. He ends the day shooting 10 over in the round and is 11 over heading into Sunday’s action, putting him far down the leaderboard. His Round 3 on Saturday is by far his worst round at Augusta, surpassing his previous worst of 78. which he shot twice in 2022.

5:05 p.m.: And with Nicolai Hojgaard recording his third consecutive birdie, he takes over sole possession of first place at 7 under. The Danish golfer is up to four birdies through 10 holes in Round 3, and has just one the bogey on the 1st hole.

5:03 p.m.: Oh man, Scottie Scheffler has his worst mistake of the tournament on the 10th hole. He records a double bogey to lose his spot atop the leaderboard, droping all the way into a tie for fourth.

4:55 p.m.: It just keeps getting worse for Tiger Woods, who is doing all he can to tough it out. He started the back 9 with two pars, then he followed it up with bogey, birdie, bogey, bogey and bogey. Woods is up to 9 over with two holes left in Round 3, and is at 10 over on the weekend.

4:40 p.m.: It’s getting crowded at the top, as all of a sudden, it’s a four-way tie for second place. Colin Morikawa, Nicolai Hojgaard, Max Homa and Bryson DeChambeau are all at 6 under. Hojgaard secures birdie on the 8th and 9th holes, while DeChambeau birdies the 9th to join Morikawa and Homa. All four are still a stroke behind Scottie Scheffler.

4:04 p.m.: One of the most notable final scores of Round 3 to point out is Chris Kirk. He entered Saturday at 5 over par, but he posted shot 4 under on Saturday. Kirk will head into Sunday at 1 over par and could very well finish with the best score of Round 3 (68).

3:58 p.m.: Collin Morikawa bogeys the 6th hole, dropping him back to 5 under, so Max Homa is back in sole possession of second place at 6 under.

3:45 p.m.: Shane Lowry has a long ways to go if he wants to reach the top of the leaderboard, but an eagle is good way to spark that run. The Irishman holes out for eagle on the 14th hole, improving from 6 over to 4 over.

2:50 p.m.: Tiger Woods is really starting to struggle. After his birdie on the 5th, he followed it up with a bogey, double-bogey and double-bogey to move to 6 over at the tournament. He’s 5 over par on the day as he approaches the 9th hole.
