Music by Skrillex Tops List of Best Wake-Up Songs in New Study

People aren’t afraid to kickstart their day with Skrillex, so says a new study by Bed Kingdom.

The data suggests electronic music fans have cracked the code to the ultimate morning wake-up soundtrack. After analyzing over 600,000 tracks from Spotify playlists labeled with terms such as “wake up” and “motivation,” their research has led to a fascinating top-10 list topped by Skrillex’s remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “HUMBLE.”

Given their ubiquitous appeal, perhaps it’s no surprise that songs like Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close” and Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk” register high on the list. However, it’s Skrillex’s remix of “HUMBLE.” that takes the crown in the top spot. While waking up to this bass-heavy banger might be a bit intense for some, there’s no denying it’ll get you out of bed faster than your morning coffee.

Bed Kingdom’s study taps into the core of what makes music a universal motivator by leveraging Spotify’s library to find the perfect wake-up call. The methodology behind the musical morning brew involves a careful analysis of tracks for their ability to inspire movement and elevate one’s mood, curating a playlist of sonic stimulants designed to optimize a morning routine.

Other dance music producers to appear include Avicii, Tiësto, Peggy Gou, James Hype, David Guetta, MEDUZA and Felix Jaehn. Bed Kingdom compiled the top 100 songs from their study into a playlist, which you can peruse below.
