Each team has won once, and with playoffs just around the corner, games like tonight are critical in the standings to determine playoff seeding. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has developed into a top-10 player this season, and watching him go head-to-head with Luka Doncic makes for an exciting matchup tonight.

Plenty of other star power is on the floor tonight beyond Luka and SGA, with players like Kyrie Irving, Chet Holmgren and Josh Giddey capable of stealing the show, and each has some interesting DFS lines. NBA DFS picks for today, Thursday, March 14: Mavericks vs. Thunder

Tonight’s game on TNT makes for a primetime matchup, and the stars will surely come to play with national attention. Luka Doncic has been on fire lately, but with his status in question for tonight’s game, it is possible that Kyrie could have a vintage performance with more opportunities coming his way.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander 30.5 points: LESS

SGA is fully capable of crossing this high total, but he has not done it in either of his last two games. He also had 25 and 17 points in his first two times playing the Mavericks this season. That leads us to follow the trends and project he won’t get over 30.5 points tonight.

Josh Giddey 10.5 rebounds + assists: MORE

Giddey is an excellent passer and rebounder for a guard, and the Mavericks often play smaller lineups, which will give Giddey a rebounding advantage tonight. He has over 10.5 rebounds and assists in three of the last four, and tonight’s matchup gives him a solid chance to hit the mark again. 

Chet Holmgren 2.5 blocks: MORE

The rookie center averages 2.5 blocks a game, and while he has not had more than two in a game over the last five contests, tonight’s matchup sets up well for him. If Luka Doncic does not play, Kyrie Irving will take more touches. The elusive point guard loves getting to the rim for fancy finishes, but that may be more difficult than usual with one of the league’s best-shot blockers in Holmgren lurking.

Jalen Williams 18.5 points: MORE

Williams has had a breakout season and improved significantly as a scorer, and tonight’s a good matchup for him. P.J. Washington is not a great defender, and Williams will exploit that tonight. He already has one 20-plus point game against the Mavericks this season.

Luka Doncic 33.5 points: LESS

Luka has been playing incredibly, but he left last night’s game early with what appears to be a minor hamstring injury. If he was at full strength, we would take the MORE line, considering he scored over 33.5 points in six of seven prior to last night’s contest against the Warriors. If Luka plays, he won’t be at 100% and may not play his regular amount of minutes. Plus, if he doesn’t play, the pick will just be canceled and not affect your picks negatively.
