In a TikTok video captioned, “Post-Birth Thoughts 5 hours after a c-section,” Rochell shares what he thought of the whole birthing process from a man’s point of view.

“My wife just gave birth. Here are some of my takeaways,” he began his video. “Just gonna share one takeaway that was by far my biggest – C-sections are crazy.”

He said that going into the birth of his first child, daughter Scottie Bee, he had a very different idea of the whole process saying he thought it was “kinda like the alternative” and that “it’s easy.”

“Now listen, you’re not having a long labor process, but the process of a C-section is insane,” he continued. “And the mental energy that it takes, I was so blown away.”

At this point in his discussion, words pop up on the top of the video to explain his feelings a little deeper saying, “If I’m being 100% honest I was lowkey traumatized lol. I’ve never even been in an OR before.”

“It’s not casual,” he continued. “My wife was so scared that she was crying and she looked at me and she was crying she was like, ‘I’m so scared.’ Her body was like jerking because they’re pulling the baby out of you. My understanding and appreciation for C-section has gone way up.”

He followed that statement up by saying, “Whoever says you’re not having a normal birth, you’re having a C-section, they don’t get it because it is different.” He then threw in a message for the men watching the video. “If you’re a man commenting on this, delete the comment, cause this is not a man’s game.”

“Yup.. C-section is the only surgery that cuts through 7 layers 😳,” one person wrote. Another added, “3 times c section mama here. Thank you for recognizing that having major surgery while awake is not the easy way.. women are warriors!”

Another C-section mom jumped in to say, ““IT’S NOT CASUAL” is everything! 😅 Thank you! Sincerely, 2 c-sections mama.”

“And just like that, the secret’s out. We had a baby like two weeks ago. And I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous,” he said. “I mean, I feel like you always hear parents be like good luck getting sleep, you’re never gonna sleep again, everything is horrible. It’s not been that bad, guys.”

The video shows Rochell cleaning the house, doing the laundry and even moving all the furniture to vacuum! He shared some wisdom for other new dads.

“Guys are coming up to me and be like bro, there’s not much you can do cause you can’t breastfeed, so you’re just kind of helpless,” he said. “That’s not true.”

He continued to explain that the house should be spotless and since your wife just went through a lot to give birth, the least you could do is “grind for her.” The NFL star also shared some helpful tips for other new parents.
