While the Detroit Pistons are continuing their near-historic losing streak, Wingstop is saving money!
Wingstop partnered with the Pistons in October for a tasty promo, but it hasn’t gone so well for fans. They are offering five free boneless wings with any online order after every game the Pistons win, but fans haven’t been able to cash in since Oct. 28.
Wingstop Is Saving Money While The Pistons Continue Their Losing Streak!
Pistons fans aren’t too happy! Not only is their team losing but they haven’t been able to enjoy some free boneless wings at Wingstop. The NBA team’s losing streak is now at 26 straight losses, with their last win being on Oct. 28. The league’s record for consecutive losses is 28, held by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010-11 and the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013-14.

Fans are giving up hope on cashing in on some free wings and have taken to social media to make light of the situation in funny ways sharing memes and jokes. It might have made matters worse, or maybe funnier, that the Pistons added the Wingstop logo to recent graphics shared on Instagram announcing their losses.
One Pistons fan wrote in the comments, “Must suck having to make these graphics and post em every time we play.” Another fan added, “Yo, Pistons’ social media guy, it’s ok to caption this photo with, “We’re so bad its not even funny anymore! It ain’t worth it posting up losing after losing. Just do it and get fired! We, the fans, we got your back.”
Another fan said, “Stop posting please.” And another person who also feels the same pain added, “I’m out of asinine things to say about this season.”
Sportscenter shared the promo tweet by @nsitto2 on Instagram and Wingstop hopped into the comments to leave their thoughts.
“We could do 5 free wings for every L, because you guys deserve a W,” they wrote, and nearly 27,000 people liked that comment!
Another fan kept the joke running strong by saying, “Detroit pistons……saving chickens 1 wing at a time.” One fan feels the next win will be the best tasting win ever by adding, “I’ll tell you this though, when the Pistons do eventually win, those are gonna be the best d— free boneless wings ever tasted in the city of Detroit.”
DraftKings Sportsbook also got in on the fun sharing a meme on their Instagram page about the Pistons’ unfortunate losing streak.
One fan wrote in the comments, “He’s gonna starve,” and another added, “Have you tried just playing basketball? I recommend starting there before eating inanimate objects for no reason. 😂”
The Detroit Pistons Tied The NBA Record For Consecutive Losses On Saturday Night
On Saturday, the Pistons played the Brooklyn Nets, adding loss number 26 to their streak. This landed them a franchise record 25-game losing streak and tied them as the NBA’s all-time single-season record of 26 consecutive losses.
According to the New York Post, DraftKings is having even more fun with the Pistons’ losing streak than just sharing memes. Oddsmakers at DraftKings began offering betting odds on when the Pistons would win the next game.
One bettor decided to go big or go home betting that they will lose every game for the rest of the season. The bettor put down $40 to lose out at +100,000 for a payout of $40,040 if the team loses every game the rest of the season – which would be 45 more losses.
