Raiders vs. Lions live score, updates, highlights from NFL ‘Monday Night Football’ game

The Lions and Raiders both head into “Monday Night Football” coming off blowout losses, but a massive expectation gap between these two teams persists.

Detroit is hoping a 38-6 defeat in Baltimore is just a bump on the journey to an NFC North title. Despite the loss, the Lions are 5-2 and have control of the division as the season nears its halfway point. A win over the Raiders would serve to rebuild some momentum for Dan Campbell’s team ahead of a bye.

The Raiders had a chance to climb over .500 last weekend but fell flat against rookie QB Tyson Bagent and the Bears, pouring cold water on a team trying to fight back from a rough start to the season.

Facing a quarterback absence of its own, Las Vegas plugged in Brian Hoyer under center to no avail, only scoring a touchdown in the final 90 seconds of the game. With Jimmy Garoppolo back in the fold this week, Josh McDaniels’ squad will need all hands on deck against the gritty Lions.

The matchup of pass-rushers might be the most interesting wrinkle on Monday night. Maxx Crosby has been a wrecking ball at times for the Raiders this season, while Aidan Hutchinson is enjoying a breakthrough year in Detroit. A huge performance from one of the two standouts could go a long way toward deciding this game.
