Disney fans have been waiting a long time to see Rachel Zegler take a bite of that forbidden apple, and now they’re going to have to wait much, much longer.

Spoilers of the Week April 4-8

The company just announced that Snow White, Marc Webb’s upcoming live-action remake of the 1937 classic, has been delayed almost a full year. Co-starring Gal Gadot, it was originally set for release on March 22, 2024 but has now been pushed back all the way to March 21, 2025. The same fate has befallen Elio, the upcoming Pixar animated film. It was coming out on March 1, 2024 and has now been pushed all the way back to June 13, 2025.

The reason for these delays? Unclear. But that both of them were set to come out early next year certainly feels like it might be reactions to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike and the fact the actors would not be available to complete the films or promote them.

Also of note in Disney’s delays is Magazine Dreams starring Jonathan Majors. The Sundance hit was picked up by Fox Searchlight hoping to get the Loki actor an Oscar nomination, but after allegations of abuse, that movie—which was supposed to be released December 8—has now been taken off the schedule entirely.

So, as it stands, after the November 22 release of the Disney animated film Wish, Disney proper won’t have another release until April 5, 2024. That’s an “Untitled Disney” film that was itself also moved back from February 14, 2024. After that, Deadpool 3 is still scheduled for May 3, 2024 despite rumors of its delay. But, to be honest, that just feels like wishful thinking at this point.
